Camera/Microphone Permissions Error: Web App

This information pertains to the Vision Web App only. Links for this web app begin with web.truepicvision.com.

If your link begins with app.truepicvision.com or visionbytruepic.com, or if you have been asked to use the Truepic Vision app, this information will not be applicable.

If you see a "Camera/microphone permission denied" error in the Truepic Vision Web App on Android, follow the steps below. Chrome is the only supported browser for the Vision Web App on Android.

Why does Truepic need these permissions? Camera and microphone access lets Chrome capture and submit photos and videos for your inspection.

Quick fix

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Chrome > Permissions and enable both Camera and Microphone.

  2. Return to the Truepic Vision Web App, tap the tune icon in the address bar (to the left of the URL), select Permissions, and confirm Camera and Microphone are set to Allow.

  3. Refresh the page and tap Allow Access when prompted.

If that doesn't resolve the error, follow the full steps below.

Here's what the error looks like:

Part 1: Enable permissions in Android Settings

Step 1. Open the Settings app and tap Apps.

Step 2. Tap Chrome.

Step 3. Tap Permissions.

Step 4. Tap Camera. Set it to Allowed or Ask every time.

Step 5. Tap Microphone. Set it to Allowed or Ask every time. Microphone must be enabled for Camera to work.

Part 2: Enable permissions in Chrome site settings

Step 6. Return to the Truepic Vision Web App in Chrome. If you can't find it, tap the link you received.

Step 7. In the address bar, tap the tune icon — the settings sliders icon to the left of the URL.

Step 8. Tap Permissions.

Step 9. Confirm both Camera and Microphone are set to Allow.

Step 10. Tap back on the page, refresh, and tap Allow Access under Camera/Microphone permissions.

Step 11. When Chrome asks for camera permission, tap Allow.

Still not working?

  1. Force-close Chrome: swipe it away from your recent apps, then reopen it.

  2. Restart your Android device.

  3. Contact support with a screenshot of the error.
